Congratulations to Andra N from Fitchburg, Wisconsin!

Andra’s entry was randomly chosen among the entries submitted to my Year in Review Quiz I posted about on the last day of 2015. Thank you to everyone who submitted answers!

The questions with answers:

Question 1: What location was the inspiration for one of our major color choices of the year?
Answer: Stiffkey Blue by Farrow and Ball was the major color choice I was asking about. The smoky blue is named after the village near north Norfolk beach (UK) where the mud, along with the cockles, is this very particular blue hue. I wrote about it in my post: Meanwhile, Back in the Kitchen…. Part II – Cabinets and Compromise

Question 2: One of our favorite paintings features a “lady of the evening”. What did we name her?
Answer: Lulu! This was pretty easy if you have been following along. We won her on eBay for not a lot of money and then spent a small fortune for the perfect frame. She is proudly hanging in our Center Hall. I wrote about it in my post: The Big Oops and the Big Fix – Center Hall, Part Two

Question 3: What alternative use did I find for marble pastry boards?
Answer: I used marble pastry boards from Sur la Table as replacements for the less than happy purchase of vintage chrome and glass side tables from eBay. The glass tops were scratched up pretty bad and I was not happy at all with them. Rather than buy new tables, I found that $49 marble pastry boards made perfect tops for the chrome bases. Now we love them! I wrote about it in my post: Detail Matters – Salvaging an End Table Fail

Again, congratulations to Andra, and many thanks to those who took the time to answer and submit entries! Coming soon will be more details about the kitchen renovation including plans and layout!
